    Default rebuilt 3.3

i'm buying a 3.3 that was rebuilt 30.000ks ago and was running fine in car..
what i was wondering is would it be worth the hassle of transplanting since my bearings just went in the old 1 or just start lookin for new car... i'm only paying $50 for the motor and box.......

kinda depends if ya gots the skills, equipment, time and patience etc to swap them over!! its not that hard to do an engine swap especially since its the same as whats coming out and for $50 for the engine ya cant really go wrong!! itll end up costing ya more tho cause youll find theres other stuff u'll have to replace like hoses, mounts etc. i recently pulled the engine out of mine ( with help of course and mines a v8 ) to do a rebuild and it was very straight forward, u just gotta remember where everything came from and goes to!!! i was in the same position too, good luck with what ya decide!!

block and tackle will do if ya got a good solid place to swing it from, just gotta handle the engine weight while ya pull it out/put it in. i did mine at work so i was lucky and had the luxury of a workshop with a pit, air tools and a crane etc. also remember that if ya sold ya car you wont get much for it if the engines stuffed so it mite be better investing the $$ to swap engines even if ya choise to buy another car!!

nice cars mate... if it genuinely was reco'd only 30k ago, sounds like a good deal... can you hear running in the car? and you should be able to hire a engine crane...

for $50, even a flogged engine you can work on on the ground is a bargain, particularly if you already have a ride for the meantime whilst you do your fiddling and fixing up...

well this is what i'm getting...... black 202 motor. Complete besides a few vacuum hoses, belts, pulleys and cooling hoses. No EST computer or loom sold with motor. Rebuilt roughly 30,000 km's ago, no reciepts unfortunatly as I bought the motor as is and are no longer going to use it. Was running perfect in car, only had exhaust manifold gasket leak. Comes with trimatic auto trans. Trans operation was also good, not slipping and no noises. Any questions please ask. Happy Bidding!..........LOL Lovely ebay

Is it a manual 6 cylinder engine? I'd do myself a favour 'n check the end float. I bought a 'good runner' (and yes, it did run well- go figure??)4 the wagon, only 2 find that there was greasy dirt buildup stopping the crank from moving back in the motor. When I cleaned this crap out from behind the balancer, it had end float nearing 5-10mm! It was that bad the crank cant even b machined 2 fix the prob with a new thrust bearing in the rear main- the crank is totally stuffed. Lucky I only paid $100 4 it.
All I can do now is use the good top 1/2 of the short black 'n put the good crank in from the blue with the holed number 5.....

If its auto 2 auto, no probs. The trans's r full hydraulic. Is that what u mean? Splitting it'd prolly make it easier if your doing it in the driveway...
if you already have a good tranny in there already, I'd just leave it there 'n sell the tranny u scored with the engine?

Yeah, u should b able 2 get 'em both out 2gether if u want 2, just make sure u got evrything dissconnected 1st ofcourse. u may need 2 jack the car up abit 2 get the engine trans out at an angle(remove the tranny fluid 'n tape up the output shaft 'n trans lines) , if u wanna get 'em out 2gether, but in the driveway, I'd split 'em 2 remove it. Either way its hard goin' in the driveway 'n even more so w/o help...
U could prolly sell a good traumatic 4 $100 with convertor? Check eBay...
