Can you tell if it is Dieseling or if it sounds like it is running properly for a few seconds.
If it is dieseling, then it can often be your fuse connected to your anti-deiseling solonoid on your carby. This is also often connected to the bimetallic strip in the auto choke.
It could also be your timing, cooling system etc etc.
If the engine is actually running normally for a few seconds, then you are probably looking at an ignition problem as stated by the previous poster, as in, the ignition hasn't turned off for some reason.
