Hey all, i just bought a VK commodore commodore, it was 200 so i couldn't pass it down, it has a black 202 with injection and it has made me decide i wanna sell my s-pac and spend some money on it, any idea's what could be done? like maybe a tubo or supercharger kit, ? and could i use a sc14? i think thats what its called.like is it possible to put it up the front there on the correct band and run it to the intake?
You can supercharge or turbocharge any engine but it will work allot better with efi. There are turbo kits for sale around the traps (ebay) or you could just get the manifold custom made. CRS do a s/c kit for the 202 but for the price of this kit It'd be better to turbo it IMO
the problem with 202's are the manifolds are on the same side, leaving not alot of room and lots of heat. I think a small turbo and small intercooler would the best way to go cheaper than supercharging. but the custom exhaust manifold would cost abit. Then you'll need a new computer, prolly injecters, you could get away with stabdard inlet manifold but poor flow will be an issue. You might need a decompression plate (shim) for the motor to drop it to a turbo friendly ratio. When you think about it there's a bit involved it might be cheaper to dump a vl motor in there and work from that. But that's my opinion. Hope it help with making your decision.
For $200 what codition is the motor in? If its worn then turbos or superchargers are going to kill it pretty quickly.
na the motor is preety sweet, my dad works at a car yard and it was a trade in off an old fella so it was a bit of a hook up, how much would a custom manifold costy roughly? and does this mean an exaust manifold? sorry i dont know much about the turbo side of things, and how does an intercooler work with a turbo and does it need a certain manifold for an intercooler? thanks in advance -[VNSPAK]-
