Hey guys got a problem with my odometer its got 144000k's and works but only when the little k counter decides to work. it seems to always stop on the 900meter mark but can get to 9k's or 48 before it decides to stop. Sometimes it'll stop but after a while it'll start working again. Anyone know what the go is? I was also thinking of buying an sl\e dash for the tacho and stuff (as i have a manual)but its got like 260000k's on the clock i know winding back is illeagal but is it hard on vh dash. My car probably has done more than 144000k's but it helps with insurance claim if it gets written off.
Sounds like the same problem my dad had on his VH years ago, but his stoped at like 7k and if it did't stop at 7k it would do it when ever it wonted to. But i would't know how to fix it unless you can find another dash and swap the gears over or sumthing like that.
Its probably the plastic gear cog thats slipping, a common problem. You need to take the dash facia out and the speedo out to fix it. What you do is dab a bit of glue onto the plastic cog.

Really. I was told that you break the plastic gears when you try to do that. I'll have to have a look lol![]()
