    sorry... yes its standard..

theres 1 wire coming out of the steering column.. i plugged it onto the back on the horn button.. but when you press it nothing.. we had a closer look n it doesnt reach anyway near far enough.. so we are presuming something is missing.. but we arent sure what it is

Hmmm a pic would be great, i can tell you that! . But I don't thing anything is missing. I wonder if the horn contact ring is dirty. Might need to take my dads VB steering wheel off, take pics and have a poke around.

Make sure the wire is connected at the other end where the horn is located in the engine bay "it may be a aqua green colour wire, mine is anyway" .

Maybe even get hold of a muilitmeter and test for volts.

Looks like in that last pic the connection onto the horn pad is broken, thats where the black wire connects too. If thats correct you need a new horn pad.

umm, this may sound like a really basic solution, and i apologise if this is no help whatsoever.

On mine, i changed the steering wheel and when i put the old one back on i was racking my brain trying to sort it out, turns out you need to put the whole thing together (screw the horn pad onto the steering wheel), this sorted out the problem i had.

So in short, plug the wire in, SCREW to horn pad into place, and give it a whirl, as i said, it solved my problem, i assume the screws acted as some sort of ground.

Yes, its embarrassing.. but a simple TIGHT screw to connect it fixed it..

also.. goon.. just use the 2 screws behind the wheel mate..
