Default Yella Terra red head on a blue 202?

Hi probably a stupid question does a 186 red yella terra head fit on a 202 blue. If it does is it worth it as I know the blue motor got better flow then the reds anyway. Cheers

Well, a head off a red motor does fit on a 202 blue, and yeah it does work, my old VH had the same set-up. The only trouble I had, was getting the idle right, but after some modification, and playing around, it was all good!! And it went really well. Never had a problem with mine.

186 heads would throw your compression through the roof mate....

Also a red head can't fit a blue motor, the water jackets area all in the wrong spot. You can but a blue head on a red motor, but not the other way around

umm, yeah you can bolt it up... i've had a blue 202 with a red 186 head... compression was high, but with the right timing and fuel, it was fine...

I'm pretty sure 202s and 186s share the same combustion chamber volumn. The 202s used dished pistons to lower the compression wheras 186s had flat tops. blue and red heads are interchangable with minor modification. You will have to use red motor manifolds.

Don't forget an engineers certificate or something if its going to be used on the road for street use...

    Your modifications might not pass!

You wouldn't need a cert as long as it complies with the emission control from that era.

Hey while on the topic of yella terra heads.....is there many around to suit blue motors? I've seen lots around for red motors, but haven't come across one yet for a blue head.

When I finish my motor I rekon the next thing will be a yella terra head...but want one to suit a blue motor.
