2.8L blue motor, how much??

hey there everyone, just wondering how much a 2.8L motor is worth? i have one that is stripped down ready for a rebuild, but bought a new engine, now i just want to tidy up the shed, how much could it be worth? is it worth splitting it all up and selling seperate, like crank, pistons, block, head, cam, etc?

It's not worth anything. A 202 on ebay usually sells for no more than about $150.

not much of a selling point, running would probably sell, but in the past i've thrown out 173's... try your luck on e-bay, you may have just the right bits someone is looking for...

They dont sell old motors like that at my wrecking yard, what they are worth in scrap metal is what they are worth and that's where they go

ive got an offer from my mechanic (so he'd know values) $50 and he'll give me his stripped down 202 ready for rebuild... they arent worth much but you do get decent dollars to sell them as scrap. i have a 173 are any 202 parts worth putting in my engine? sorry to take over thread but i may as well save space and not create a new one.

they're all the same parts reall they just have sifferent heads and different bores to the block.

202 crank is also a longer stroke.

well you can pick vh commodores up now for like 150-200 bucks. they may not be in good nick yea.
i picked my vh up for $300 bucks (the one in my signature) and its mint
