You get better top speed on a manual, great accel with an auto

Its upto you really and want you want out of it, or if you prefer to drive manual or an auto.

im always after accel more than top speed, altho i would like to be able to acheive atleast 160-180 if i wanted to. but for me im all about accel, so unless i had the $$$ for a tiptronic i would probs stay with an auto.

I just wanted to know if the th700 used in the vn's etc would be a good option. if they are a stroner box compared to the th350 and if they would bolt up to the back of a 308 without an adation plate, new xmember etc.

im pretty sure the bellhousing patterns are the same i think the bolt up ok.... the turbo 700 has 4 gears aswell. but i think its got some electronics to figure out. not sure if its any stronger though

yeah, i believe the tailshaft is a different length, and remember it has a flange fitting to the pinion of the diff... as for the bolt pattern, it will fit if you got a turbo block, you'll prob need the VN starter motor and rear x-member tho...

but... on a 3rd note, the T700 is a lot weaker than the T350, ur only advantage will be the overdrive...

All turbo 700's have a 4th gear, the TH700 in the VN's up is equivilent to a
T180 used in the states, just with a 4th gear...

sorry, i correct myself, the trimatic is called the T180 in the US, the T700 is equiv. to a T200, not much stronger than a stock trimatic, but a lot weaker than a T350...
