I'd rather pay more in fuel, than have a gutless 202 or 4 cylinder.
What's the point in having a car with all the features but no power?

Anyway, I get about 250K's on a tank of gas. About $20 worth. Petrol would cost me probably over $80 to fill and get me 300-350 K's. I haven't put a full tank of unleaded in yet because petrol is a rip off. I run 95% gas all the time.

A lot of people knock V8's because of the fuel prices. I don't give a crap, especially when I see them driving around in their gutless 4 cylinders.

unless your vk 5L is worked it probably wouldnt be as fast as some newer 4/6 cylinders.. i'd still rather a VK 5L anyday over a 4cyl though.. more torque and the best sound

no 4cyl could ever sound as tough as a V8... unless you bolted 2 of them together...

Bolting 2 4cyls together would probably sound like 2 whipper snippers going at once...still not going to sound anything like a V8.

Hi not to burst any bubble about how bad gas is but i had a vk with a 308 aussie 4 sp it ran gas and petrol and i didn't notice and power change the motor was worked very well it had a 3.08 salisbury diff it would pull 100 kmh in first 140 kmh in second 185 kmh in third and in fourth i had it sitting on 5600 rpm at an approx 250kmh and all this was done on lp gas lpg has got a higher octane rating than super or unleaded petrol i think and don't hold me to this its about 105 octane rating i have forgotten the exact figure gas does use a little more fuel than petrol does its safer than you all think and as long as you use an upper cylinder lubricant which will help protect the engine any way that's one of my experiences with lpg

VRSSBT1 you sure that the gearbox was an aussie 4 speed? cause to pull 100 ks out of first you need a lower diff than a 3.08, something like a 2.60/2.78 with either M20/M21 aussie 4 speed. Or the gearbox was a very wide ratio 4 speed.
The most i can get out of the sle in first gear is 80 ks with M21 tranny. But top speed reving at 5000rpm 220+ ks, the speedo needle was hitting the trip reset rod!

my old m21 and worked 308 used to pull about 110km/h in first with a 3.08-1 diff.revving at 6500 rpms.prob bout 230 top speed at around 6000 rpm in top so i doubt you would pull 250 at lower revs....

You'll get 16l per hundred everywhere out of a blue 308, 10 on the highway and 14 around town in a fuelly.
