Electronic Spark Timing. The best thing to do is replace the dizzy with a VH Elec one and piss off the EST.

ok, so what does the EST do...?

and how much would it cost to replace or even get the vh thing like you said??

    also would it get worse..?

    thanks

I had the same problem a few months back.
The EST is a basic computer which talks with the dizzy to time your spark plugs. The light, I have been told, is telling u that the dizzy is playing up. This also puts the car into limp home mode, which menas u should notice the car has limited power, runs like crap etc.
As said b4, get an electronic dizzy from a blue motor, like from a VH. I got one from the wreckers for pretty cheap. I think it was under $60.

Its an easy job to do. just make sure u set up the dizzy in the positions corresponding to the piston positions. There is a thread in this section all about how to do the job.

bin the whole EST system and replace with a VH dizzy as mentioned before

    problem solved

its caused by a EST sensor being dead, it is crap anyway so who cares

Distributor. It's the thing on the right hand side of the motor with a cap on it. Has a bunch of leads coming off the top. Don't fiddle unless you know what you are doing. :/
