Strut Top removal with no Rattle Gun

Spent the day doing up the front of her Berlina.I put new Strut Tops, New Front Inserts(shocks), new P/S rack, Raduis Rod Bushes, Stab Links & Saddles & I DIDN'T use or own a Rattle Gun so I used my old wheel brace & sum vice grips...easy as

Thats what i did mate when my dodgey spring compressors bent!! i was suprised how easy it made the job.

No shit! I tried that... couldn't get a decent grip on the thing. Ended up buying a compressor and gun just for the job! (though it's come in handy about 100 times since then!)

Are those Nolathane adjustable strut mounts? I want a set of those.

nar only Standards.I was tossing over buying the Adj types for only an extra $50 but settled on thses as they were outa stock of the Adj type.Tops cost me $100, Inserts were $130, Rack Ends $20 & so on.Slap up a few pics.I've dun plenty of the Strut Tops that way.I have the fortune of having spare Struts laying around, well 1/2 a car really...!! to do up wheneva.I've come across sum stuborn ones but give them a good few days soaking in tiger pee & nar sweat.Worx everytime.I hold the insert at it's very top under the bump stop to avoid scracthing it with sum thick Rubber.I stand on my Vice Grips...
Just Waiting til dark to have a go at a home brew Wheel Alignment with a Lazer Spirit Level.I have a free wheel Alignment coming with my new tyres but I'd like to have a go..
