hey guys,
ok, the rhumor i heard...
"the diff gears in the automatic nissan pintara are always either 3.9, or 4.11..... and that they fit straight into the diff of a VH commodore."
now, question 1 is, would i have a sailsbury, or a borg warner? its a discs rear end 253, non lsd.
and secondly, is the rhumor true?
and thirdly, has anyone done this?
cheers
Have a good one

Yeah early skylines, falcons etc all had a 78 series borgwarner diff, crown & pinion will bolt into a commodore, you just need to check axel splines. Most run a 25spline diff centre which will slot straight into a standard borgwarner diff. the 25 pline LSD centres are a 2pinion LSD which are still pretty good but there is as usual something better. If you get a 28 spline centre out of a VL diff or VN-VS it runs a 4 pinion LSD centre and is much stronger even the IRS still run the same centre. But you will need to get yourself a pair of axels to suit your diff housing thats where it will get expensive. up to $600 kind of expensive.
Oh an yes i have play with a diff from an early skyline that had 3.9 gears.
cheers

Selling FG G6E Turbo and buying a N/A Supra
VH have a sals, you'll need a BorgWarner from late VK or VL.
Late VK 6Cyl, VL na 6Cyl BW 25 spline
VL V8, VL Turbo AND VN - VS BW 28 spline
Pretty sure the Skyline and Pintara diifs are all 28 spline.

A lucky owner of 2 SL/E Commodores, a rare VB SL/E and a 2 tone VC SL/E. Just need a VH SL/E and have the set!
so before i can swap the centres around, from my diff to a pintara diff, i need a borgwarner diff?
whats the best way for me to do all this? ie, wreckers, and take a borgwarner diff, and a pintara diff?
also, are the axles different in the borgwarner compared to the sals that i have?
thanks for the help
Have a good one
