    Default VK Driver's Seat

    Hey everyone
I bought my VK last week
But because im still on my Ls my Dad test drove it and got it back here for me so I didnt get a go myself, so anyway I sat in it for the first time today and theres a bit of a problem.... even when the seat is all the way forward I cant reach the pedals. I cant put the clutch to the floor without having to sit right on the edge of the seat
Will i have to get more/re-adjust the tracks that the seats slides along? Or has anyone got some other suggestions?
(And don't tell me to grow... it isnt my fault that im short ... lol )

woah lol are you really really short? :P no offence, i dont think that the rails can get brought forward without a a certificate of saftey or what ever their called cause if you do do it withou tthat then you could be up for a defect notice or wont pass the pits
Thats all right, thats ok, I drive a commodore anyway!!!!

    Something like this maybe??

Seriously though, what Salem said...I think you can buy just the rails, dunno if you can get longer ones or not, but they do have to be ADR approved...

Ok several years ago i noticed a midget driving a VN Commodore Manual i might add too, I had seen him around several times and this one time i decided to have a chat and a stickey beek LOL, what i saw impressed me, the guy made some blocks out of acrylic and bolted them to the pedals and hey presto all fixed no probs with seats adjustments, anyway food for thought,

From what i noticed the guy had some of that anti slip mat on there so i would guess it would be ok, i recon it would be the same as a normal pedal pad ?????

that would work......having a block of something stuck onto each pedal but in my VK i could put the bottom part of the acc pedal to the floor and there was still a fair way to go and if there was a block of something on there i rekon the bottom part would stop at the floor and you wouldnt be able to get it all the way without some negatioation

Considering the age of the vehicle make sure that the rails are not full of junk and thus not sliding forward fully. Secondly replace the rails with say VL ons as these sit up off the floor and have a better travel. Well the vn ones definately do but you need to get the outside rails to create one seat slide.

    Cheers

With the VL rail conversion it depends on a few things.

The VK had 2 types of rails 84 rails were the same as a VH. 85 we the same as the VL.

I had a quick go at installing an 85 VK set of rails on my 84 model seats.

Passengers side was pretty quick only had to bend a couple of brackets used for the old adjusters.
Dirvers side was a different story. not a bolt on solution. The bottom frame of the seat is different.

I was trying to fit the whole base not just the rails height adjuster included. Holes need to be made for bolts as they are different on the drivers side seat. possibly easier to go out and get an old 85 model seat and transfer the swabs over.

    cheers

i have seen that before good idea i reckon. tara you could have got your car converted like people with broken backs can control the pedals using poles.

    cheers
