hello,
I have a fuel injected 6 in my vk and when i try to start her up she just won't run. When i normally start her up she'll start fine with just a couple of taps on the gas and it'll start fine and will sit there all day running.
Now when i try i have to hold the gas flat to keep her running![]()
Is it just because the is F#*k all fuel in her or something worse?
P.s i have not ever ran her dry Before.
You have to keep the gas flat to keep it running... what do you have to keep it at (RPM wise) when you do?
(does sound fuel related... could be dodgy pressure, blocked filter, pump crapped itself...)
Did it just 'happen' or was it a gradual process?
just happen, it ran dry and then i chucked 2L i had spare in the shed and took it up the street and back and it just happened on the way back! it went from burnouts to buggered lol (fuel is under red line)
Go to the petrol station and fill her up.
no was not old it was only like a week old (lawn mower fuel my mum bought)
yea i am going to get fuel for her but need to find a 20L jerry can first.
and i have no Lic so petrol station is out of the question even if i did have fuel to get there lol.
better hope your mums mower is a 4-stroke or you'll be pumpin out smoke like a diesel gemini...
No wah to that!
Never late with ROB308...
no its 2 but un-mixed, She gets me to mix it for her.
Well i'm off to try and steal a jerry can off one of my mates for half and hour.
Thanks for your help!
keep an eye on my Sig because i'll be posting some pics up soon when i find out how to get the pics off my phone.
It would start straight away by turning the key when the motor is warm. When cold, EFI motors shouldn't need pedal pumping like carburettor engines do.
mine did, It wouldn't start otherwise. It also didn't get driven much for like 6-7 months before i got it so that might be why.
Can a mod delete this thread now? as i have fixed the prob
Nah leave it open. Some other turkey might come along to the forum asking how to run their VK without fuel.(jokes)
