Hi, my numerous manuals do not make mention of a wired switch (I assume its for tranny oil) on the opposite side of the box to the modulator. It screws in just above the oil pan. It is leaking and if I can get the right name for it I can source a replacement. I'd rather be asking a dumb question here than at the dealer.. Cheers
I think I remember seeing something with wires off it. I don't think it's connected.
if its screwed into the body of the trans then it might be something to do with the kickdown solenoid circuit from memory all trimatics have em, if its one thats been fitted into the pan and doesnt look factory then its probably a temp sender probe.
It's a switch.I know wat yor on about. From memory & correct me sumbody if i'm wrong but it's a hi speed throttle kick down switch.Only on the later model Trimatics have it, such as the VK's.Should be a tiny seal inside it & a tiny Pin which needs removing. You'll need to drop the pan out the way. While you're poking around up in there grab sum new seals for the Selector Shaft & the Vac Mod.Nuffin worse than trans fluid leaks, makes the drive look like a whore's bedsheet

Last time I looked, mine wasn't connected.
Mine's not connected on my Calais & the trans works fine. Her Berlina is connected, as for really wat it does i'm unsure.

Yeah mine just dangles there.Another useless optional extra.

none of that shit does anything on mine, the vacuum thing or the kickdown solenoid. AFAIK they arent required on a full manual valve body trans.
