VK HDT rims on VH SL/E

okay, now its my turn to ask for some opinions...

What do you guys reckon of the 15" HDT rims???

I can get a set for a good price but not sure if they'll look ok on my ride, i quickly photoshopped them on to give ya an idea...

i was chasing the exact rims for my sle, but i found a set of walkys in the meantime so went with them

They suit your car. Probably suit all old Commos. I have a set on my car. Without them, it wouldn't look as good.

If you can get them for about 100 bucks each, that would be not bad.

i can get them for $300 plus my SL/E rims...

I would keep the sle mags i think your car looks great how it is although if you have scraped or dammaged one of your rims and you were looking to replace them the other rims would be just as nice but i personaly wouldnt make the change if its un-necessary

The Aero rims do suit the classic lines of a VB-VK well. I say get a set. Heck i might get a set for the 2T0NE beast!.

hey atrail308 those 2 photos with the sle and hdt rims, how much have u lowered the bugger? any specific springs, or is that a photoshop job?

im looking at ultra lows and was wondering if theyd be as low as that.

Either, HDT Aeros look tough, just make sure they havent stripped the threads in the wheel where the socket heads go to hold the dish on, if someones put steel ones in you'll have fun getting them out. They're quite cheap to get re-polished because of their simple shape too. your current wheels look alright though.

yeah I got em on my calais, they look good, i just gotta fix the front and lower it a bit and it'll look as tough as it sounds...

I think it looks slightly better with the SL/E rims but both rims look good and suit the period of the car

yeah, thats why im finding it a hard decision... as for the lowering job, it is lowered mildly, but i exagerated a bit with a photoshop chop...

i like the sl/e rims more but only becasue the are polished. If you polished the HDT rims the would look SO SO much better than the sl/e rims.

you'll have no trouble asking $500 for the set if they're in OK condition and not buckled or have any threads stripped. I'm assuming they're 15"? the 16" ones are worth big $$$$ and sell very quickly.
