    Default bore ware

HI I want to find out how far the bore has to be worn befor I need a rebore. Its a blue 3.3L. Its only just a runabout so I was going to pull the motor down and put new rings and bearings in it.

Buy yourself a micrometer it will be able to measure your bore for you. Else consult your local machine shop who will be able to measure it up, acid dip it, and give it a bore/hone.

    cheers

A compression test will find out what cylinders have the most amount of wear.

Or the compression test will just show what rings are worn, what valve guides are leaking also. Best to measure each cylinder.

Most of the time a machine shop will setup their gear to bore however many thou larger than standard, ie +040. The have the standared measurements.

    cheers

micrometer won't help much to measure the bores, but an INSIDE micrometer will
