Yes shock horror i'm asking a question!. Anyway for the life of me i can't remember where the wire goes onto the coil. I think its meant to go on the positive side?. I know where the wire goes onto the dash part. Can some body help out?

I did notice the bullet connector in the engine bay, but there wasn't one in the dash area. But i had a wire and some connectors and made a new one up. Got the tacho working, but now have problems with the oil pressure gauge.

If it is jumping around its probably the wiper on the sender unit going open circuit...you can buy a new one or carefully cut around just above the shoulder on the base of the sensed unit with a hacksaw careful to cut just the outer cover all the way around take cover off and clean the wiper where it rubs on the resistance wire and solder the cover back on in a few places and wrap tape around it to seal it again...worked for me....that s my experience with one.

Well no the oil pressure gauge reads all the way when the motor is going, but once you turn off the car, it stays there. It only comes down when you tap on the gauge itself.
I changed over the oil pressure gauge but still has this problem. I don't know if the wire has broke between the oil sender unit to the gauge.

I've hooked up an SL/E dash into my SL and now my oil pressure gauge reads right up to full when the car is on and sometimes when i turn my car off it stays there. If i turn ignition to reds and back off again it drops. as far as i know my car doesn't have the oil pressure sender unit in it to send the info so the needle goes flying up with nothing to stop it. Because it goes up so fast it hits the end and basically wedges itself there. Thats my diagnosis and of it anyway. Just for my own sake does my model have the sender unit in it? If not how hard are they to get and hook up? just run a wire from it to the back of the dash?
