Hey
Hust wondering if extractors from a red 202 can fit onto a blue 202. I have pulled off the manifolds as the exhaust manifold has a crack in it and was going to put some extractors on, but i need to know which ones easily fit! also, what other work needs to be done so that extractors can be fitted? or do the extractors and inlet manifolds just bolt back on?
Thanks
The problem is that the red 202 has a 9 port head while the blue 202 has a 12 port head so I think they're not compatible.. but I believe the difference is in the inlets not having to double up, not sure if there's any change to where the exhaust manifold goes.. so basically I'm completely clueless
As for putting extractors on: You would want to unbolt the inlet manifold from the exhaust manifold because they'd be bolted onto each other (I think), then you can just take the exhaust manifold off and put the extractors on, then put the inlet back in on its own, but I think doing this is defective because it's meant to recycle the expelled gases (again could be completely wrong - better off waiting for someone who knows what they're on about to reply lol)

If u want an easy job mate, install blue or black 202 extractors..
I have a few pictures on my site to give u an idea if u would like ot take alook. "installed 84 VK's"
Lose the reds there to much f ass around mate.. since you'll be needing a new manifold try one from a black 202 "VK"
Red extractors do fit......I had a set on my blue 173. :P

They do but the ports dont line up proply. It wont be very effecient.
nah they wont fit. I put a red 9 port with a holley on my vk 202 black motor, the 9 port bring up a compression a bit. fly's now
Trust me mate, they fit!But like Dan said the ports don't line up properly, but they still fit and they are usable.
Here's some pics of when I put mine on. Don't mind the messy engine bay and oil everywhere...my engine bay is now freshly resprayed and my motor is bring rebuilt!![]()
This pic was a b4 and after when I gave it a qwik clean, even tho it was still dirty as hell haha...but the same red motor extractors are installed, but now painted red.
And here's wat she sounded like, the zorst was just the red motor extractors into a 2.25" pipe straight through to the cannon on the back.

how can you tell the difference with the extractors when they're not on the car?
I have a set in the shed i wanna put on the blue motor but dont know if they are red or blue.
Cheers
A little bit off topic but my daughter had a set of extractors fitted to her VC 202 a few years back, along with a rebuilt carby, the original manifolds were warped, the exhaust place blanked of the area on the inlet where the gas from the old exhaust manifold heated the inlet. Trouble is during winter the car continually stalls as the inlet manifold is no longer heated, in the warmer months the car runs and idles great. Have any of you guys run into this problem after fitting extractors?
