Hi all,
I have the opportunity to buy an 82 VH Vacationer 3.3 Auto.
This car has been owned by a relative since new and it has a genuine 70,000km and good service history.
I'm thinking to keep it as a second car and don't want to spend much on it.
The body is very straight but has a couple of rust holes about the size of a 5c piece underneath the boot seal rubber along the top edge of the boot. Is this sort of rust easily fixed and/or likely to cause rego problems?
The only other thing i could fault with the car was the front shocks were worn so the front end felt a bit sloppy. How much should i expect to pay for a set of strut inserts inc fitting?
Buy a gregorys manual for the car mate, it'll help you out heaps.
If your looking at getting someone to do the labour for you, it can be quite expensive and you'll find doing it yourself allot cheaper !
It'a not hard to learn if u ask questions and do research, trust me i know
If your looking at a cheap place to pick up shocks, i would say a twin pack would probley cost between 70 - 180? really depends on the brand... i say 70 casue i can find bargins on ebay.
Other auto places to look at for parts, i would suggest Supercheap, Autobarn & Repco.. sometimes auto pro... Repco will usally have any part you want.
But always shop around first, don't take short-cuts or u cut yourself short![]()
As for that rust, check out my vc project site, under my sig.. i did rust work before she got RWC and rego, I even re did the whole boot part your talking about :P
Welcome to the community mate![]()
i don't know about front shocks but for rears they are 34.00 each (cheap ones) and 44.00 each (good ones) at supercheap.
