Hey all
Is there can paint engine enamel around that's high temp? I don't really want the task off having to take the setup off and then spray, but I will if there's no other choice.
I've never look for engine enamel that u could paint on with a brush: p
Are there any mods that could be added on to the trimatic box? My guess a better diff would be the idea then trying to improve on the tri?
I'm thinking about installing 2 small spot lights soon, what watt size would anybody recommend? That wont drain my power with the cd player on![]()
Thanks.
Have a look at the range of VHT paints: http://www.speco.com.au/vht.html
Personally i wouldn't brush it on. I have seen a car painted with a brush and it looks crap. There is also the K&H Australian brand but I would go with the VHT. It's about $16 a can. Autobarn and places usually stock most of the range. My Autobarn store surprisingly stocks more stuff than I had thought before.
You can make trimatic boxes stronger buy upgrading various components. I don't have any info. I wouldn't go to the effort with yours as it's only behind a stocko 6 cylinder. They are pretty tuff but can show signs of wear after years. A diff change wouldn't do much. Just make sure your unis are all good and it should be ok. Adjust the band and replace the filters every 40K.
As for spot lights, they are generally called driving lights. They typically come in 55 watters and 100 watters in either broad, pencil or combo beam. Check out the Narva Web site. They have a heap of different lights and they are pretty good.
If you have your stereo blarring with the motor off, it will drain the battery after a while.
Just remember when you get driving lights, don't leave them on after your car is turned off. I did once and in less than 5 minutes my battery was dead. Make sure your wiring like the alternator lead is in top condition and all terminals are good so you get maximum battery gain and minimal voltage drop.

take a look in kmart you will be able to get some nice looking ones for like 30-40 bucks. Please don't get big round ones and mount them on your bumperlooks shit
The ones in KMART are absolute crap. They look so dodgy. Last time I looked, there was only 2 different times.
Thanks guys![]()
I was after the paint so i could paint my headers without removing themBut look like its the can now

Not sure about kmart, but ive never seen any good auto stuff in there.
I have a nightvision set i might use...
Cheers!
Don't attempt to paint your exhaust whilst it's in there. It will look crap.
I have got a nice new shiny VHT 'silver' flameproof can sitting in chemicals box now, waiting to spray my two exhaust pipes after I put the flanges on. They are about a metre long each and should be enough to do it.![]()
And yeah, post pics.
No. It will be anywhere.
Get off the rum, Goon.![]()
I would have figured you knew crap like that. Obviously you need to rotate the motor to TDC position compression stroke when putting in a new dissy. The distributor could be pointing to any cylinder when the motor is turned off.
Yes you can. You'd then block off the mechanical pump hole. Why the need though?
carby meters the fuel not the fuel pump unless you are runnign stupidly high delivery pressure which i can garantee the stock pump wont be.
if you do run an electric fuel pump make sure its wired up correctly so that in the event of an engine fire it will shut off and not continue pumping fuel...
