Question VH Tacho Dash in VC

    Hey guys
I have just recently purchased a VH tacho dash, becuase in the VC it only has the economy guage and doesnt have battery voltage.

The problem is, i have connected the tacho up and it works but i think it is not set properly cause if i rev it pretty hard the guage only goes up to 2500, there is a trimpot on the actual tacho unit (i pulled it out and adjujsted it ) and now its a bit better, but i dont know how to calibrate it exactly. Do i just need a aftermarket tacho to compare it to then get them so they read the same?

Also, i am unsure what i need to get the oil pressure guage working. Do i need an extra sensor? and how hard is it to put in?

    Cheers

Oil pressure - get the tube and remove your oil light sensor then plus in the tube.. make sure the end of the tube has the adpator piece.. to screw in where the oil light sensor came out of.

Did u block up the eco gauge line?

Was the dash out of a v8?

Where do u have your rpm gauge connected? make sur ur connections are good, crap will give u a crap read out.

Ummm there isn't a tube for the oil pressure gauge. You need a oil pressure sender unit, wire and some female clips. The oil pressure sender unit has to be right near the oil pump.
I reckon the tacho you have now is a V8 one. I don't know how to re calibate it. Most auto elect places do however

    Thanks,
i have been helped by my dad - hes an electronics engineer. we figured out that yes it was a v8 tacho but we have recalibrated it. However the speedo had a differant speed reading so i will just use the old one.

So for the oil Pressure sender - does it have to be one of a 202? or can one be taken from a v8?

    Cheers
p.s Goon, the Vac connection is disconnected at the Xmas tree Vac connection on the Manifold and has ben plugged - but hopefully later i want a little Vac guage To go (Somewhere!) in the the dash, becuase i like the vac guage, its just i like the tacho better and i didnt want to look stupid with a massive aftermarket tacho sitting on the dash (And not only does it look stupid it also attracts cops!)
