Well, it's definately possible to be done as cars in the Amercian? demoliton derby cars have that set-up. But whether they came across any errors while doing it, I don't know.
It looks pretty damn cool though.
Well, the vh is never going to see a public road again, and it isn't going to see a speedway track for a while. In the meantime we are going to enter it, i mean thrash it, in some motorkhanas.
Anything goes at the moment, as CAMS isn't involved, so i was thinking of modifying the exhaust.
A mate has offered to do the welding for me.
The plan is for us to get a exhaust plate, 6 90degree bends and some pipe. we will take the exhaust out under the intake manifold, then the bends will send it upwards through a hole in the bonnet. The pipes will be capped off with those flappy things that tractors have on them.
At the moment, we have about a metre of pipe attached to the extractors which exits under the passengers door. We will keep that set up so we can go back to it when we need to.
Can anyone think of any inherent problems with doing this? we will probably have to get a windscreen now and some ear plugs so we dont die.

Tomorrow doesn't look good either.
God must love stupid people, He made so many.
chrome the pipesor use some of that truck mesh stuff to make it look flashy
and wasn't there a car on madmax2 that had a setup like that?
I see a very big problem, fire What happens if un burnt fuel exits the pipes onto the bonnet etc??
When I had my 202 once installed I started it up headers only not bolted up to the exhaust and it used to pop flames out the pipe. All you need is a bit of unburnt fuel and you will be toasting marshmellows.
Other than that unless you are running solid engine mounts you might need to cut some large holes int he bonnet for the pipes to exit. The 202s move around a fair bit. Also clearences so you can open and close your bonnet.

hrmmm, flames is something i'd like, but the fuel on the bonnet could be a concern. We'll see what we can do with the tune.
I'm tempted to just ditch the bonnet all together, but i'm likely to blow something up in the engine bay, and with no windscreen, i think i'd prefer hot fluids being stopped a bit.

Make them like exhaust stack, up away above the roofline. Big 3" chromies with swept tops like on big trucks lol.
Go nuts.

Wire up an extra spark plug or 6 to force burning of the unburnt fuel? Certainly sounds like an interesting idea, keep us posted mate
it's a race car. i'll be going fast. then again, i'll be going fast sideways.
i spoke to the guy who has offered his welding skills. as soon as i mentioned the fire thing, he said he'd been thinking about that and would angle it away from the car. we'll just burn everything around it![]()
