    Default starting issues..

ok my car just stopped the other day i filled up with gas and went to drive out of the servo and my car just conked out...

I have spark and fuel getting to the chamber...

What other problems could there be?

Oh i had a blown ignition fuse as well if that helps

and do VK's have a crank angle sensor?

    I'm guessing it's a carby one?

There's no crank angle sensor, the computer gets all its timing info from the coil negative terminal of the ignition

EDIT: Just realised it's a carby not an EFI.. check your choke.. also could still be the carby.. could also be severe warping of the inlet/exhaust manifolds but it should still start, just idle poorly..

Put a timing light on it to see if the timing is moving all over the place. If the timing is moving then the EST module is the problem.

Is the rotor button turning in the distributor. If its not turning you might have stripped a timing gear.

timing gears usually strip when they're under load i think.. were you taking off pretty fast, your car cut out and you hear a whirring sound?
and if the car will just crank over but not start it's probably your timing gear

When I broke the plastic gear on the bottom of the dizzy my car was doing stuff all. I drove it into the position it was sitting in until oneday when I tried starting it and no go......I wasn't happy coz it was gonna be the last run b4 I pulled everything to bits. Just gonna get a metal gear to chuck on it when I put it back 2gether.
