Gday guys,
i'm looking at a 202 to buy to put in my currently 173 VH, the motor has been reco'd in the last 10,000 kms. It was rebuilt by Better Built motor reconditioners. The old man said he's heard bad things about them, ie that the parts they use are of poor quality..Has anyone else heard anything about them?
Regards Rhys
Well yes they could be better built but you get what you pay for.
If you want a bulk reco, put to gether with a rattle gun engine GEM, Higginbottom, better built all much of a muchness, and are only a reco nothing special.
If you want a decent engine for your car source a good machine shop, buy a few good quality tools and a couple of books and build the engine yourself. You will get the satisfaction of doing it yourself, knowing what was done and everything was done right.
Take your time, be very clean dont rush things and double check everything. My last 202 took 1 day to put together by the time a checked tollerences on all the parts and assembled the engine.
cheers
Scott
