ok i might do a bit of engine work soon. i was thinkin
yella terra heads
new valves and springs (not sure wot though)
new tappets (again not sure)
i was just after some help with the diff parts and prices.
and possibly a stage 2 shift kit to be fitted into the t40 trimatic how much etc?
cheers![]()
Yellow terra heads are good mate, my mate suggested for me to check a few wreckers in major citys as there cheaper and u can always repair & a doubt a good wrecker wouldn't sell u dodgey bits.
U can fit the stage2 shift kit, not sure on cost but i know it can be done..
I'd replace pstions that would be something good to do, fresh pistions and no more carbon cover'd ones!
Valves and spings, that can all depend on what u r placing in ur engine, if u going standard, just hardern the valves and new springs should be okay..
I'd also getting abit of porting done to increase the flow, if u dont want a yellow terra head.
I'm doing my engine work nextyear, but im still working on my own extreme setupI have a wild setup on list that others have done, but u need to be a bit rich...<- this depends on who u know really to aquire the parts on that list.
i think wreckers are about the only place to get a yella terra head for a 6cyl as yella terra dont make them anymore not enough demand anymore or you might get lucky on ebay i saw one on there a few months back for $250 unfortunatly i didnt have the money at the time
chees guys the reason for strengthening my internals is i am supercharging the car so i want a bit more air flow and stronger internals so it will last a lil longer and maby run more boost.
i was thinkin yella tarra head new forgies and rings strong valves and springs and stronger tappets. all with a sc14 or 16 supercharger with custom air boxes, fmic and piping running around 10psi or so maby with in cabin boost control for a bit of fun.
and then wen i get sum money or finish the apprenticeship. vl lsd and possibly a manual conversion if my knee will stand up to the clutch.
Hey mate, if ur after stronger internals, maybe get an EFI 202 black motor. They have better flowing heads, and apparently run the starfire rods and a better crank.
When I finish building my engine (and painting my car) the next step is converting to EFI, then after that my next goal is running an SC14 blower (Where did u hear about a SC16, coz as far as I know they don't exist). But that's gonna take a lil longer coz I wanna run a front mount as well, so it's gonna take me a while to get the plumbing done haha...on a tight budget.
Or maybe if u wanna get some more cubes, get a Ford 221 crank modified to fit ur 202, I rekon with the right pistons/rods/crank combo (possibly Ford 221 crank, hemi rods and pistons) u can get about 249ci out of it.....apparenty they don't rev as hard due to the longer stroke, but the SC14 blowers don't like revving hard either so u might be safe!
Goodluck with it anyways, and keep us up to date!![]()

if your gonna supercharge it, get some starfire rods and ARP rod bolts and ARP main bolts/studs, also talk to someone about the crankshaft snout... i know on the V8s some cranks are specifically made with different snouts to suit a supercharger application. it may be that you cant do much with the 202 cranks but ask the question anyway
