Most of the 202 EFI computers don't like anything over 4500, very hesitant and the like.

My VH (173) hit about 5k, our SKiDWAGON with a 202 has been to about 5200rpm, altho I normally only rev out 1st and 2nd to 5000rpm when doin skids, and sit in top gear at about 4000rpm. Our EFI VK we're not 100% sure coz the tacho is a bit out.

My EFI202 will hit 5 grand easily that is with an after market comp though. As far as I know the head is stock standard bar hardened valves/seats. On one dyno run the ECU recorded a top speed of 5940 RPM, though now i've set the limiter to around 5 as that is were the power drops off. That dyno shop wont see me again.

Nah the trans or diff won't have any effect.....possibly if they're worn and putting a lot of restriction on the motor....but still the revs should build up eventually.Just chuck it in park or neutral and see how high u can get it lol

I have an 85 VK 202 EFI, it will rev to 6 in neutral and driving it can get to 5.5 so give it to it to about 5.2 most of the time
