$6,000 Vk? Wtf?

I saw a VK (don't know what one exactly) on a local car lot and it had a sign for $6000. I had a quick look as we drove past, but it did look mint as. All of the other VK's I've seen have been way cheaper. I'll have a proper look at it sometime, and I was wondering if this is a high price for such an old car?

Well, being at a dealer, they can charger whateva they want and usually some knob head will pay the price, I know because I work at a car yard.

We had a VK at work at the start of the year some time, i think it was advertised for 6,990. It was mint as though, it was a VK Calais 5.0L with EVERYTHING. Sounded tough as, and i got to drive it

, I think the ended up sellin it for a bit over 6G

Looks the goods, I love the colour and the mags but I don't like the dash. I wanted the Berlina dash that's analogue.

looks mint but i paided about half that for mine and it only had 118000 ks on it. i love the color, white over silver looks tuff on all vk's and was the best color that came out on the calais's IMO.

5 grand for that is way too extreme considering it has 250 thousand on the clock and it's only a 202.

Maybe if it had a 308 with 180 thousand K's it would be worth 5 grand but it would be pushing it too.

The thing is the insurance company would only insure a 202 VK to max about $3000.

I'm sure I can beat the guy down a few bucks, in anyones opinion what is it worth? I was thinking $2-3k max?

Look elsewhere. Tell him you would consider it for $2500.

That ball on the towbar is a defect coz it blocks the numberplate. We were warned about 3 times from different cops about it on PEAKN6, they said it's about a $300 fine if a cop in a bad mood pulls us over about it.

Don't matter now tho coz we chucked VH bumpers on it so the numberplate is where the centre garnish would normally be.

yeah mate look around you'll find the bargain you've been looking for i went and had a look at a vk station wagon the other day with a 308 auto full berlina interior they want $1500ono the only down side was it run out of rego last month and it's a wagon but yeah look around garantee'd if you paid $6000 for that you would see a better cheaper one next week

i'll sell you mine for a grand, not as nice but yea less kays samer motor and box. 15" sub, mp3/cd player, sports wheel and yea little mods like that.

I saw a VK yesterday for $1300, I was so tempted to have a look even if I do live in the city and could never have 2 cars ha ha.

What did u do to waste 6g's on mate? lol ive spent just over 3g's so far that includes car, RWC + Mods.. less not forget the drinks

Should hit 4g's or a bit over by end of nextyear.

Keeping looking, look at the back of caryards to, you'll be surprised sometimes

Yea some ppl just have no clue. Iv been looking for a new commo for the last month (im fussy). Went to have a look at a vh advertised as mild 202 ect ect. Got there, had a look nope. Stuff that it was rough as. Motor was standard with a manifold leak. Bloody dumbarse.

I saw a 5L VK calais it a car yard today when I drove past, went and had a look after work. it looked preaty good........ from a distance anyway.
they wanted $5000..... it had simmonsds wheels and tinted windows but that was about all it had going for it though.
it was an auto, interior was preaty rough, ripped and cracked seats etc.
thought it was a fair bit overpriced for what it was. I would have thought mabey 3-4 grand.... "hate to see what theyd ask for a mint condition 5 speed!!" haha

Seen a yellow 'K manual, $500 which I have, might look at it. Only 5 mins from here as well. How easy would it be to convert it to an auto?
