Can someone send me in the right direction with some links for perfomance parts for an 84 vk commodore non-efi.
Ebay my friend. It has tons of stuff on there for commies
If your wanting the 202 to go harder any mods cam etc wise done tot he engine will require replacing the existing EFI system to something more suitable tot he task either a reprogramed Delco setup,a Haltec E6X or Autronic.
This is where your starting to look at bigger $$$$ and your probably better off considering an engine conversion.
cheers

For once i have to disagree on the point about the 202 not being worth it overall.. even though u have the experince with the motors mate
If you research and know your engine, know the right people and do alot of mods yourself, you'll save heaps and a creating a fast beast can be done... just think about it, then think about it some more.. It's all trial and error before the shiat becomes right !![]()
Hell ya dont have to buy brand new parts all the time, second hand parts are just as good if u know how to bring them back to life, whats the difference.. the quilaty and length of time before the craps out.. thats why that have service and rebuild.
Knowledge is power!
Improving on the 202 can be a challenge.
Do u have EFI Caldys?
How much are u willing to spend?

My brain fart its a carbie 202 I didnt read his post properly. But I will stand by my first post. Dollar for dollar you will get more power, better fuel economy from a different engine than the 202.
To make a 202 perform its need more fuel & more air, so a head job is in order big valves, heavy valve springs. A High lift cam is in order to get the air /fuel in, roller rockers will be required as the standard rockers arent up to the task.
Next the bottom end needs to be done to match the top end, bore out the block, machine out the top edge of the block to allow the big vlaves to clear the block. replace the pistons with light weight ones and get the bottom end lightened and balenced.
Price wise including machining your up new price of around $2800 doing the assembly yourself. without including things like oil, filter, bigger carbie or EFI to suit, plus you need and exhaust to handle the monster. In the car your looking at least $3500 new.
Second hand you still need to machine it up and balence the bottom end say $2800.
You would have a 202 that would go hard prob up to 110rwkw. if done properly.
Now compare to a a RB series or V6 conversion for $2800 you could get just as much power if not more with better economy, more drivability, more reliability, more torque. In NSW you would be up for around $300 for an engineers certificate.
The above is the reason I dumped my 202. When I come across a bargin of an EFI 5L I my choice was easy.

My car is a carby and i dont have much money so i will be doing it up slowly. i dont know much about the motor myself so i was hoping that i could get some help with what to do to the motor for little money.
does the 350cfm holley just bolt straight on. See i dont know what kind of parts im looking for and what fits
a 350cfm holley wont bolt straight on but you can buy a adaptor plate from any auto parts store just tell them what it is for (ie:vk commodore 6 cyl )
to bolt a 350cfm holley on the adaptor plate bolts to the manifold where your carby is bolted to now and the holley bolts to that
thanks what are some other mods i could do
injected 5L, u know u want to
here ya go...go for it!

There a few things you should know about ebay though. You shouldn't bid on items when you see them. you should wait untill like 5 minutes till it ends and then start to bid. If you want feedback points search for 0.01c ebooks with free postage and buy like 20 of those and then leave the seller good feedback and they will leave you 20 positive feedback points!
Plus if you want to bend the rules of ebay abit you can make 2 accounts and then make a really high big on the item you want so no one else looks at it because the price it to high, Then retract you bid and the price will be really low and then you can snap it up for 1/4 of whats its worth!! But remember you have to retract your bid 24hours before the auction ends or you will be stuck with that high bid. enough ranting from me! lol
hhm there some good tips PHAT_COM. If you want some good bits try the wreckers and the auctions. If you find a smashed car that has a worked motor then theres all the bits/engine you need!
