do you think a supra 5 speed will do?

i an looking at a 82 vh sle and i was thinking would a supra 5 speed would do for a swap it is a 202 at the moment but if i get it in the persent it would holpfuly get a worked 308 in its belly any thorts would help

Should be right but it does depend on what type of supra box. I know a guy who's running an alloy case w58 behind a 400hp chev and it's holding up ok, but from memory there are weaker and stronger variants of the supra box than that one.

Have a read of this, EDIT: not a lot of info on strength on that page actually, thought there was more. Good info on ratio's though.

i beleive that n/a supra boxes are good up to 400hp and the turbo versio are good up to about 600hp or so ive heard.

I have a supra 5 speed behind an efi 5 litre, I regulaly tow a 1.2 tonne boat. Ive never had any reliability issues with it.
