Thanks James
carby could need a slight adjustment, also is your choke working properly?
We got rep back, yaaay!
If it's only doing it cold it is probably a choke problem, if not then I'd say you have a vacuum leak. What carby you got?
Do you have a Stromberg or Quadrajet? Sounds like the choke isn't working properly. Mine does the same thing and gets warmed up eventually.
i have a 4 barrel carby but not sure on brand i will have a closer look on monday because i wont be here over the weekend. yeah when i give it a little rev it sounds like it's sucking a whole lot of air like to much i think.
it could also be your fuel pump, if it dies when you try and drive. thats what mine vk does when i have little fuel in the tank.
Goon, A & B of your answers won't make the car run like his and mine. I would bet money it would be the choke because mine does the same thing. Thank goodness it's summer or I would be waiting forever until my motor warms up until I touch the throttle.
If the idle was a bit off, it would let you drive it fine but would just run like a barge on standstill. If it's cold, same thing but the choke is there to comfort the cold.
OP, what do ya reckon'?
my carby is a rochester quadrajet... still the same case?
