i am woundering does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 253, and also did vb come out with blue motors. I am also wounder what the wires from that black thing on the gear leaver for a trimatic are for they go under the dash some where. Thanks
Not 100% sure, but I rekon all VB's were red motors......I rekon the blue motors first made an appearance in the VC's.

The late VBs, early 1980 models, gained the blue motors, no VCs ever had red motors, full stop.
Now these wires on a black thing on the gear leaver, well what black thing are we talking about?. AFAIK only thing on the gear leaver is a green clip that contains the light to light up what gear your in.

A lucky owner of 2 SL/E Commodores, a rare VB SL/E and a 2 tone VC SL/E. Just need a VH SL/E and have the set!
The wiring to the selector switch your talking about will contain two large wires (usually purple iirc) that allow the car to crank but only in park. The other pair of smaller wires (yellow and orange?) are for your reverse lights when in R.
The starter signal wiring provides a nice little way to build a kill switch into the car somewhere.
