    Default Chrome strips Dirty

    Hey all

My strips are starting to get a yellow pale orange colour around the rubber seal areas from the rain, what should be best to clean this off with?

Had my baby undercover cover this weekend, its been raining up here non stop for the lastweek.

I shouldn't have this problem again, i finaly got my weather cover today after it stopped raining

I dont think there is anything you can do for them, if they're the front and the back strips they are covered by plastic and the damage is done to the chrome which is underlying. I bought the replacement strips off ebay and my panelbeater whacked them in for me when he did a few other touch ups..They're about 40-50 to buy off ebay to do the front and back

At a guess, you mean the front and rear windscreen chrome strips? If so, you can't get the shine back cause they are made out of plastic. Only way to fix it is get another one!

I got a roll here but when I tried putting it in I just couldn't figure it out haha. I do a bit of work at a crash repair place here, which is where i got it (the dude that does windows brought it out to me when I was leaving oneday).....but when I take my car in to be painted and get the windows put back in I'll get him to chuck the new strips in....saves me gettin all worked up over it But still not sure if I wanna put the chrome ones in, coz I absolutely love the VH SS's, so might just chuck a black strip in.

For everyone who's not sure wat the chrome stripping around the front and back window looks like, here's a few pics:

This pic shows how it's made basically, with 95% being the plastic/rubber stuff, and a small strip of chrome though the middle.
