Gday guys, im going to purchase a new yella terra cast iron head for my blue 202. Just wondering if anyone has one or knows of one and the kind of increase in performance to expect with other mods, ie cam, overisze pistons, holley 350 carb etc. etc. They look really good, apparently increasing flow by 35%.The part number for the yella terra is SPA 3300G. Any information about them would be great?
Cheers Rhys
I'm pretty sure it's only the exhange heads that you cant get any more...i work at super cheap and you can order a new head through us for about 1500, i'm going to ring up Yella Terra tomorrow and see how much i can get one for directly off them.
I'm unfamiliar with the YT PNo you mentioned but I had a yella terra Bathurst 9000 head on a red 202 years ago and it screamed. the mods you talking cam, carb and healthy compression will give you an easy 120+rwhp or more depending on how far you go with it, if you havent got the carby and manifold setup yet, stick a 450 holley (4 barrel) and redline or cain 4brl manifold on, it'll go harder than with the 350 holley, cruise on the primaries and you'll have the secondaries for full throttle fun. you'll need a anything up from a mild cam to a hot street cam for it though (taken the desciptions from the crowcams book).
the $$ add up quick when modding the 202s
good luck
yeah thanks mate, the dollars are starting to mount up...Will look into the 450 cause i havent bought the carby yet
Was also wondering has anyone used racing hydraulic lifters in there 6? I was considering using them along with a cam from Blue Racer (Crane cam) in my setup so im not forever adjusting. From what i've read the street pro hydraulic lifters would be ideal.. Any thoughts?
used Crane anti-pump up hydraulic lifters in my old 202 with minimal problems... had one lifter bleed down btu i took it out and dismantled and cleaned it, no real drama.
dont mix crane and crow though, ie if u use a crane cam, use crane lifters and a crow cam with crow lifters. I dont know anything about the blue racer cams though.
I think theres a Holley 465 aswell, both are vacuum secondaries which I found to be excellent to run once set up correctly on the dyno. if you go that road with the holley get yourself a quick spring adjustment kit for it, will save you $$ and time when they first set the thing to run correctly on the dyno.
