    Default Worth buying or not?

I can pick up an EFI (VK) manifold, throttle body, fuel rail with injectors for $15. The only thing is its been sitting out in the middle of this dudes yard for a while. I picked it up and it's gathered dirt in the throttle body and it took a bit to actually open it.

But I'm thinkin if I cleaned it right up....basically pulled it down, cleaned it all then put it back together then it might be ok to use.

Does it sound ok for $15? I know it aint costing me stuff all....but if its gonna be useless I won't worry bout buying it.

yeah I'll eventually need to get a computer. But if I decide to go EFI I rekon I'll go with the VN delco computer, as the analogue system in the VK's are apparently pretty cruddy.

I went out and bought it just b4...got a few extra bits with it as well. Will post up some pics later, altho everyone prolly knows wat it looks like haha.

    Thx everyone for ur help!

Nice find mate, id flush the efi pipes out with degreaser, then wash it off until its not greasey anymore inside the pipes, i did the same thing with my manifold for 20 dollars! it was one big clump of mud when i found it. 2 Cans of degreser later and she's shinny again, in better nic and 2years ahead of my old one.!

Looks like the thorttle bodies seen a bit of acid, id try clean it up with stealo, or if u can get a sandblast done to it.

The throttle body should come up a treat after I attack it with the wire wheel on the drill. Not sure bout the manifold...might see if I can get it acid dipped.

Here's a before and after shot of my brake booster and master cylinder assembly. I used the wire wheel and some good cleaning agents on that and it came up alright!

Got the intake acid dipped, well I don't rekon it was acid, but the same gear they use to do heads. It came up great IMO. The throttle body I just pulled to bits and cleaned the inside, didn't worry bout getting that acid dipped, will just clean it by hand, sand it a bit then paint it. The manifold is ready to paint, will prolly do it yellow the same as my motor is going to be at this stage, but still not 100% sure.

Here's some pics. I'll start with the last pics I took b4 I took it out to Richards Motors, then the ones after I got it back.

I'm very impressed with it. The main thing I was worried about was all the crap inside the pipes, but it seems to have cleaned them up pretty good to!

Also here's a quick before and after of the throttle body. All I've done so far is cleaned up the inside.
