    Default VC Factory radio

    Hey guys

    Pick up my new VC tomorrow! YAY! Now, I need a guide to remove the factory AM radio.. im assuming its differnt to a VK.

    Any guides?

    erm... actualy it's pretty similar

    There's two clips on the left and right which need to be pushed in to get it out, recommend using a coat-hanger and bending into a U shape, then keep pushing it in and pulling it out on the left and right hand sides simultaneously while pulling on the unit.. should do the trick

    hey guys just got a vk (first car) n i need a hand getting the radio out its all busted n the release latches r gone is there a way 2 remove it without taking the console apart??

    You can try wiggling it out mate? sometimes the heat can make it stick.

    Or u could try feeling around for the screws against the metal frame of the player..

    i think with the vk's you have to pull out the ashtray and there is a screw that goes into the bottom of the radio not 100% but worth a look

    yeah with the VK's theres a bolt at the back of the stock radio holding it in.

    thanx guys yeah there was a nut at the back of the radio housing.......got the radio out now need the wiring guide does any1 have an idea of what they r or where i may get em

    Make sure u buy the right speaker watts for the system, dont wanna overload it!

    Then again i had a 250w speaker to a 40w cd player i my old ute, worked for 3 months util u couldnt read the screen no more.. drained the power hard with spotlights on

    Your probably better off re-wiring for your cd player, to ensure good earthing etc..
