Well, what sort of condition is it in? You need to have a good look at it for potential problems.

Do you want to restore it back to original condition or do it up and just make it look hot?

    Cool

Yeah u would have to check what condition of the VB man, make sure it aint full of rust.

That would be nice if it was a V8 for sure.

I want to restore it back to its original condition. Its gonna be a show car.Im told its condition is really good other then the lack of driving in recent years, and the 3 inches of dust that covers it

If you are going to start it up after it's been sitting there for a while, check the battery, replace the fuel, check all fluids.

If you have a working battery and fuel in the tank, it should start up without a problem but you'll need to take the air cleaner off and put a cap of fuel in the carb throat. It might take a minute or two to get the fuel flowing to the carb but stale old crap fuel should still burn.

this brings back memorys of when I got given a VC 202. Took a while to get her going check every fluid and check hoses and brake lines. Brake lines especially. Get a can of start ya bastard or aerostart. and take the air cleaner and give it a good long spray and stand back as it will blow out some fire from the carb. Hopefully the last fuel he used was leaded in the beast. Cant wait to see pics of the ol girl

If it was me, I would do the following

remove the dizzy and check the points, rotor button & dizzy cap.

knock the spark plugs out of the engine spray a bit of inox in the bores, crank then engine over a couple of times using the harmonic balencer retaining bolt.

Put the plugs back in and try to fire it up, if it wont fire up try a bit of start ya bastard in the carbie.
Sitting so long the rubber diaphram in the fuel could have perished, also rubbers etc in the carbie could have also dried out and perished.

If its a manual be careful the clutch could have frozed up,take it for a drive in 2nd gear witht he clutch pedal depressed and it should free up.

I would replace rubber brake lines later & all fluids, replace fuel line, fuel tank breather hoses, suspension rubbers, thermostat, fluch the cooling system, also change the brake pads they are probably asbestos based same with the clutch if its a manual.

    thats about it.

    cheers
    Scott

Put 10 litres of unleaded in there using a jerry can and add an amount of valve saver additive to suit how much petrol you put in. So if you add 10 litres in and the additive bottle treats a whole tank, add 1/5 or so.

I doubt it would benefit at all. It's not a high compression motor. I put unleaded in my car and it runs good. Premium for my car would be a waste of money unless I upped the compression ratio.

Hardened valves and seats .....but any replacements u buy new should be ok as they would all be suitable I would imagine.

Yes that's it. Technically it wouldn't be worth just getting new valves and seats pressed in. You would be better off getting a reco head which has new valves and seats as well as stem seals and a machine job.

I know my cousin got his 351 cylinder heads done with new valves and he paid $700 or so for the pair. Should be about half that for a 6 cylinder head.
