hey everyone.. i recently bent the left axle in my vk.. i got another axle from a wreckers but when we took the bent axle out and tried fitting the new axle, it didnt seem to fit right in. we got put both axles on an even bench and there was a fair difference in length.. the bent axle measured from the studs to the top of the axle 766mm while the new axle measured 779mm.. a whole 13mm.. the studs were the same length as each other aswell.. can anyone explain the different lengths of help in any way???
the car is a 85 vk 308 4 speed manual, has 2 u bolts from tailshaft to diff, 10 bolt sals and disc brake if that helps

Well i measured one of mine, came up with 775mm!. I do know that both side axles are the same length.
Perhaps count the spline on the end, if its 28 spline, 10 bolt, if 25, 8 bolt.

Your best way to identify axels is the codes on the end of the axel. In the middle where the hub is you will see 2 sets of numbers cast into the axel.
If you after axels PM me the numbers and i will check them against mine for sale.
cheers
