If you do a search this has been covered heaps on the forum...

There a spray you can buy at places like autobarn that you put on yourself.

    It's also Illegal.

    But wait... There's more!!

    But that's not all!!!

illegal yes, but they dont really pick u up for it, got one warning out of so many vechical checks. get the tinting spray, do light coats till u get your desired darkness, try not to get any runs, when its dry clear coat it.

hey mate the can one is more for flat taillights... with vk/vl its more of a pinstripe thing where you paint the parts that stick out black.... does not have to be transparent, and the other parts that sink in are normal, this gives the tinted affect and IS legal as this is how the belinas tailights came out from factory...
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!

    the spray is called Niteshades.
and im pretty sure if you can clearly see your tail lights when theyre ON from a certain distance away, then its legal, if you cant see them then its illegal..
dont quote me on that though

I used a White board marker i stole from school, works better than i thought i would and if you leave it for 5 mins without touching it it won't rub off.
My vk lights look like calais lights now (ps i have berlina lights in the boot i just got bored lol)

the way i see it, if you tint your taillights and i run into the back of you, i just tell the cops that you had tinted tail lights and i could not see your brake lights. they would check the broken plastic on the ground, and agree with me. have you ever followed a car with no tail lights. its hard to judge when they are stopping. why do up your pride and joy to have some 18 year old girl with sunglasses bigger than her head in a excel run up your arse cos she could not see your lights. (i ride a motorbike too.)

is there any way they could check to see if the tail lights were visible tho, cos i have mine done and during the day they look darkish, but as soon as the brakes come on, it's as if they weren't even done. at night they are as clear as stock as well. if not i'l post some pics to show what imean, but to me they look fine, even with dark tinted sunnies on.
i followed an older ute today (bit off topic) and i could barely see his brake lights, and it was a standard lense. honestly, that was so much harder to see than my tint
