Hi,

Just wondering if VL door trims would fit on a VH. And if so, can the locking mechanism be modified to use the VL horizonal-style latch?

I don't think you cqan change the lock. You may need to pull the hole locking setup off the vh and vl and swap i not sure? BUT if you can find a one, Some Vks have the pin lock like Vh's. I have only seen one and it was an 84 berlina and i was told it was because it had central locking? If not find some vk/vl doors the same colour as you vh and put them on! i know the front doors fit but you may run into some problems with the rear doors because vk and vl's don't have the vent, they have a window.

Yes the VL door trims will fit your VH. You can use the VL style clock mechanism, the rear doors are easy to do, the fronts i don't really know what goes with them. But you can use them easy.

i have to do the same thing to my vh i just got vh sl/e door trims that have the slide locks i have the pop up ones let me know how you go or if i finish first i'll let you know
