you gotta be kidding lol??? a 4 barrel on a straight 6.....number 1 and 6 cylinders would have some serious fuel starvation problems if you had that on there......either go twin strombergs or triple SU's if you want some go fast action...

i would say get rid of the 202 and get a v8 only because hq's are sooo heavy.

    and v8's sound nice!

Well if a 4 barrel carby is so good on a 202, why didn't Holden make them factory fitted with them then??. Think about it sunshine

    Now 202WGN, whats your budget?.

Why didn't Holden do a lot of things that enhanced the performance of their vehicles? Cost. Holden couldn't add the cost of these parts and still remain competitive in the market, as most of the car manufacturers couldn't either.

And also the fact that HQ's (and any other 202 powered beast) eat enuff fuel as it is even with a stock carb setup.

6 Cylinder HQ's were the 1973 equivelant of your standard soccermum Falcon or Commodore wagon... soccormums dont wanna go hard, they wanna spend less on fuel on their soccer runs so that they have plenty to spend on cottees cordial and rollups during their wednesday shopping trip!

Besides... if the 202 was set up to go hard, nobody would have bought the higher end rather more expensive 253 and 308 powered vehicles would they!?! Keep in mind that we are talking about a GM manufacturer here...
