vc starter motor

i was just wondering if there was anyway of getn the starter motor out of my vc ?it has got air cond and theres not much room to move around,and under the starter there is the exgaust!

You have to drop the 2 engine pipes off the manifold (stock exh) or unbolt the extractors (if fitted) to get enough room to remove the starter.

This is where the bosch reduction gear ones are great - they fit in & out without dropping the pipes!
