    Default 5spd - 4spd borgy box's - Just a qwik one :)

Well currently I have a Borg Warner M76, which is goin into my VK wags when I get it this week, well I get the VK this week, but the trans is goin in when I pull the motor out to get a complete respray, which is once it runs out of rego.

I know the M76's are weak as piss, and as I have a mild 173 gettin bolted up to it I'm guessin it won't last once I start doin a few skids. So I'm wondering if a 4spd will bolt up using the same crossmember, clutch cable, bell housing, tailshaft and clutch...or will I need to get new bits?

When our next skid comp comes up I wanna swap diffs over with our SKiDWAGON, which has an everyday Salisbury 8 bolt, but she's now welded up. So then I can take my VK wagz out onto the pad and let loose. Instead of revving it up and dumping the clutch on the spot I'll take off then full lock and hopefully she'll start building up revs on the spot....I'm hoping she'll sit in 2nd goin nicely.....but yeah I don't wanna kill it, coz we just about killed the 202 in the SKiDWAGON from sittin on 5k rpm for to long haha.

But yeah, will the 4spd just change over no worries? Not sure if it's an M20 or M21, but it has a holden 6 bellhousing bolted up, so whichever one came out with the 6's I'm guessing it is.

Holden 6 will bolt up just fine using your existing clutch, pressure plate etc, even the speedo cable is the same.

I dont know if you would be able to do this in a burnout comp etc but if you attach 2 water squirters inside the wheel arches etc run off the rear washer bottle onto the tires it should help you spin them up easily without dumping the clutch. Once spinning they should keep spinning.

    cheers
    Scott

coz thats $300 and the one I'm looking at I'm hoping to get for under $100 Would ya swap sumfin for it?? I got a spare VL diff sittin under the VH, won't go under the wagon without to much stuffng around so I may as well just buy a VL wags diff. Wat about $100 and the diff? lol

Cheers for the idea Scotty, might look into that. Could have a tank in the spare tyre well and have a hose exiting from the drainage hole to go to each wheel
