How easy is it to take out the RHS rear quarter panel, get it painted up and replace it? It's for a VK Calais.
Too hard to be painting it off the car...they need to be fitted welded, bogged, primed, sealed, the painted....not easy unless you plan to ur sticky tape or super glue...same with ay rear quarter plannel, assuming you mean rear, some people call the front guards quarter panels...
Well it's got a few rust holes/spots in the panel, and I don't want to use bog. How much would it cost roughly to get fixed up?
depends how bad the rust is you might get away with sanding it back the using some rust convertor, or if it needs to be cut out then you can weld a new plate but then youll need bog.
Try giving Rare Spares a call, They have replacement sections for the most common panels that rust out . Failing that as said before weld a new section in then lead wipe it instead of using bog , will last much longer . Removing the whole 1/4 panel is a big job.It is spot welded around the wheel arch ,around the windowand boot.I done a fair few of them when i worked at G.M.H in Dandenong .The section where the roof joins the 1/4 panel is spot welded then lead wiped
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
