ive got a VK blue 202 i was fixing up for work car and it had trans problems so i swpad it but still not shifting proply, i was trying to do i manual swap today but i got a black 202 flywheel and it wouldnt bolt up slighty different bolt patten, do i need to get a blue manual fly wheel???
my crank has a big knoby bit on it???
Any ideas????
Blue & Black engines are essentially the same engine with very minor differences. The crank shaft is pretty much the same the bolt pattern is identical. Your new flywheel should bolt up perfectly fine. Try rotating the flywheel around and see if the bolt holes will line up. Is there a locating pin coming out of the crank? does it line up with the hole in the flywheel?
Also just a note the VKs came out with a black engine not a blue so somethings a miss there as well.

yeh i no, its a 85 VK was a manual b4 and EFI, buts got a blue 202 inthere now for sum reason.
What do the red cranks look like, as my crank isnt flat its got a big knoby bit on crank, my auto fly wheel wouldnt match up with a black 202 either.
i dunno whats going on???

On the passengers side of the block does it have 202 or 3.3 cast in the side?

hey mate thanks for that, nar my cranks different its not flat and doesnt have the dowl i just have a big knor around spigot bush location, i rekn its got 202 on block, cant get pics because car isnt at my house?

If its got 202 on the block odds are you have a red motor, if you can get some pics of the engine we can correctly identify it, both sides, front, top.
So a different flywheel might be in order

yea it sounds like a red motor or a 186?
sorry for late reply, its deff a blue 202 3.3lt. Yeh its all good now manual box fitted. it was just tha auto bush that was in crank shalf that made it look different.
Also have a few other questions?
Now i have wires everywhere in the engine bay so i suspect it had a EFI engine in it at sum stage.
after taking start motor out now VK wont start when turnong key, u have to apply power to the small terminal on starter to crank it over, any ideas???
None on my temp, oil, volts, fuel gauges are work, could this b a fualt in the cluster?
what wire (colour ect) goes the the temp sensor, oil pressure switches???
also there are a few wires needed for the caby, could you help me out with the wires for that to?

Ok ive fixed the starting problem just joined the purple wire under dash which went to neautral switch for auto.
Now just wanna sort out theses problems?
