    Unhappy Radiator Fan

My son's 82 VH radiator fan has come loose on the shaft. At the back of the fan (facing the engine) it looks like a washer and what resembles a wavey looking circlip have come loose. Can anyone give me any info on this and what I can do to fix the problem?

    Thanks

Replace the parts like the clip by getting a pair from Autobarn or any auto shop. They usually have packs of them with all sorts of sizes. Sounds like the part might be broken.
If you want, I can look up my manual and tell you what parts hold the fan on?

    Default fan clutch

the fan thermo clutch i ready to fall off.
you can get one from the wreckers or buy a new one

i wouldn't keep driving it like that in case it lets go and breaks the radiator or dents the bonnet from the inside

i wouldn't jut put a straight fan on as they steal to much power a high revs

    Default Electric Fan

Reading a bit in the forums I get the feeling that it may pay to replace the manual fan with an electric one. Does anyone have any idea what would be the best solution, and the steps to do it?
