check out my ride http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...ad.php?t=49768
agreed gtx2 is what most engine re-builders recommend to run in a new engine
I use Castrol GTX in my blue 202, works great, A person told me Mobil works great too. he's been driving holdens for 50years so i supose he would know.
F.O.R.D
Forget Out Running Datsuns
Any good 20w50 mineral oil will be just fine, HPR30, GTX2 etc are all good oils.
Use a genuine GM small bodied oil filter, put about 400-800km on the engine then change the oil & filter.
Make sure you bed your rings in nice and quick, dont baby it too much or they wont bed in properly.
cheers
Scott

thanks alot for the help guys, much appreciated
Do you have a towbar fitted? Fill a 6x4 trailer half full of sand and tow it around for 20kms, good for bedding in the rings.
As long as you don't use Synthetic oils you should be good.
When your driving around don't just sit on a constant speed for the zone your in. Vary the speed a bit and try and pick some hilly country to drive around in. The up hill grades are a great help, just like towing a trailer of sand. Just don't let it get too low in revs and struggle on the up hill sections, that won't help either. Changing the filter along with the oil is very important, don't forget to do it.
Good luck with it.
No it's not NOS it's LPG
