Hey all,
first post here.
My mate was driving her VK this morning and accidently knocked if from D to R causing it to stall instantly (automatic). When she tried to start it again it would nearly kick over but then it would just die instantly.
For a while now the car has had trouble starting, like you need to give it abit of gas to get it started. Tried that still didn't work. We have been told the computer in it is blown. Could this be the case?
Haha I did that in PEAKN6 one night. We didn't have a button on the top of the gear selector since it got pinched. I saw a mate one night and went to put it in neutral to give it a few revs as we were goin passed. Well I thought I was in 2nd and I moved up 2 gears, but I was actually in D so I got reverse.....just locked up the treads for a split second coz as soon as I was bout to click it in I realised I had gone to far and quickly moved it back down.
Didn't do any damage that we know of tho...still goes ok.....did a top gear burnout in it the other night so it can't be too bad.![]()

Find a decent mechanic and be guided by him. SAACC should be able to tell you if there is one of their members in your area. If he's a member of the Sth Aust. Auto Chamb. of Commerce he drags them down if he's no good and they don't like that. They should help even if they just give you a phone No.. If you haven't got the reader you can't tell if the computer is stuffed. Easy way is to just go to the wreckers and get the use of one they know is good. That's if they will let you, you may have to buy it first though. VK was a very simple computer that just looked after the advance etc. of the timing for the ignition. Dr. Bob the chip doctor will be able to better explain it. That's if you want a more detailed story.
No it's not NOS it's LPG
