    Default VK Respray

    Hey all,

I was just wondering how much it would cost to get my VK commo resprayed? I would really like to hear from a south aussie who has had it done and where, aswell as the cost.

    Cheers

it depends if you plan to respray it in acrylic(the old stlye) or two pack the new style...on a vk if you want to spray it acyrilic you can get away with sanding it back then painting again but if you want to use two pack you need to either bare metal everywhere your going to spray of you need to rub it back with 400 and use a wet on wet prima to save tym or a normal prima and rub every pannel back...if you bare metaleed it urself it would be cheaper but dont think that you can just rub it back urself then take it to them to try and save money coz they wont garrentee

like a miminum 4k for an average half decent job

and you will be hard pressed to find a painter who will touch a car if u try and prime it yourself.......

but as the old saying goes u get what u pay for

lol and id hate to see a car thats been sanded with 400 then painted over... be mad sanding marks everywhere....... a minimum 800 wet and dry if u plan on just scuffing the clear off and painting over the existing paint

i was quoted $3800 for panorama silver once and that was with a discount so i think budget on between $3500 to $5000 depending on the condition of your shell post up some pics so we can give you a better indication

mate depends what kind of work needs to be done (rust, dents ect) some crash shops will let u get away with doing some work your self depending on what kind of work you want on you car. if u want a first class job i would put between 3500 and onwards depending on what paint and what style ie (2 tone, pearl, acrylic, 2 pak and then depending on which colour u want.) if u want 2 do it ur self try a paint called pro-tec its an acrylic and comes in all types of colours and shades. but a well primed and prepared car will help.
