bonnet cable

The bonnet opening lever on my VH broke a few days ago. Is there anyway I can open the bonnet without the lever?

What i did was strip the outer cable and get a pair of bullnose pliers and pull the wire. Thats the easy way.
Replace that cable theyre about 10 bucks from a wrecker

Mine broke when I was giving it an oil change. Was sittin over the pit and had already dropped the oil.....went to open the bonnet and SNAP! So we couldn't go anywhere till we opened it to put the new filter on and oil in. Eventually got it tho, pulled the cable all the way back through and chopped it shorter, so it just hung down sittin in the tray under the radiator...when I need to open the bonnet I just put my hand under the front and pulled it haha. I even had to do it when a cop was going right through my car.....altho he didn't worry bout putting that on the defect haha.

If it's just the plastic peice that broke then you'll only have to replace that. I pulled one out of my parts VK and it was a b!tch to get out. Took like 15 minutes of laying across the front seats with my head under the steering wheel...and after all that I don't even need it now coz I got another car I'm building.
